I actually like his "crazy", furry, curly, look better - but we've learned that if we let that look go too long, his fur becomes so matted and he has to be shaved..... and trust me... THAT is ugly! 
So, he went to the groomers on Monday and he turned out pretty good.  The only thing I'll have them change is not take off so fur around the nose and eyes.
