Tomorrow is the last night of HHN. I know it's such a cliche but it seems like just yesterday we were there on opening night. Time has flown by so quickly.
I plan to do a follow-up post ranking the houses, scare zones, and critiquing the Jack Show and Bill and Ted.
But for now---this

My Poor, Poor, Poor Baby
About 3 weeks ago I noticed Ollie was scratching himself more than is usual. My first thought was an allergy. He has troubles with allergies that will occasionally cause him to itch but it mostly affects his paws and he will lick them causing his fur to turn a rusty color.
So I did all the usual things like up his Benadryl from once a day to twice and switch his food from 1/2 grain free and 1/2 regular to all grain free but it wasn't working.
I bought some oatmeal shampoo and gave him some oatmeal baths which gave him some temporary relief but he would always go right back to the scratching.
On Sunday I noticed he had an open sore on his skin from scratching so hard so I turned to my FB friends for advice. A couple of them suggested coconut oil so, after purchasing some on Monday, I have been adding it to his food and also rubbing some on his body. While he loves the taste of his food with the coconut oil - it wasn't helping the itching or scratching at all.
Then this morning I noticed another open sore and made an appointment at the vet. I am so glad I did. Once they shaved him I was able to see how bad his skin really was.
They gave him a shot of steroids and a shot of antibiotics. And since the culprit turned out to be a single flea, they also gave him a boost of flea meds.
Hopefully he is on the mend.

Four Days of Disney - Day Four
I picked up our annual passes today...
We got these cards but were instructed to come home and order our wristbands online (which I already did - they should arrive this week).
For today, we used the final day of our 4 day resident ticket.
My aunt and uncle flew into Tampa Bay from Milwaukee the other day and were going to the Magic Kingdom today. Initially we planned to meet up with them on Tuesday at Universal but for several reasons it worked out much better for all involved to get together today.
We had such a nice day. Again, the weather was practically perfect - lots of blue skies, temps about 80*, and a slight breeze to occasionally cool us off.
This is only the second time my aunt and uncle had been to the Magic Kingdom and, apparently, the first time they were there my uncle had shingles (not pleasant) and they spent the whole day in Tomorrowland. So we were happy to introduce them to some new rides. They were not fans of thrill rides so we began the day at the Haunted Mansion.
Disney is upping their game by making their wait lines more interactive and interesting...possibly done to keep up with Universal.
After the ride we had been in the park for all of about an hour and Zack was apparently starving! So we headed over to our favorite restaurant.
Good ole English fish and chips.
With his urgent food craving satisfied, Zack was game to endure another ride through It's a Small World. Actually he played around on his phone through the whole ride...but my aunt and uncle really enjoyed it.
Zack and I really wanted to do Splash Mountain but my aunt and uncle weren't really keen on the drop so while we did that, they went on Thunder Mountain...I gave them the tip to ask to sit in the front and they said they really enjoyed it. On this particular ride the back is the place to sit if you want more speed and thrills...which they did not.
Success!!! It didn't break down today!
After that I let Zack go ride Space Mountain by himself while I took my aunt and uncle on Pirates of the Caribbean (no pictures). Then we made our way over to Tomorrowland.
We met up with Zack and had some sodas and went on Buzz Lightyear. We got a great laugh over the fact that my uncle did not know who Buzz Lightyear was...had never heard of him.

We also had a great laugh over the photos after the ride. My aunt and uncle both looked so intense while Zack was chewing on his fingers and I wasn't even looking in the right direction. Turns out they had a very serious competition going on in their vehicle for high score.
We still had 20 minutes before we planned on leaving and they suggested the Speedway. We were game. I didn't care if I drove or not so rather than taking up another whole car for myself, I just rode with Zack. Let's just say he won't be getting his license anytime soon. Holey moley he was all over the road. But Bless his heart he was trying.

30some Years of Watching Football and I Cannot Believe I Saw This Happen
Yes I was watching the Patriots/Colts game last night.
What on the surface of this great earth of ours would ever make someone believe that a play like this would ever work?
What is this alignment? Let us take a moment and dissect all the oddities of this situation.
1). This is supposedly a "fake punt" situation? Do they really think the Patriots are going to believe they are punting? (more on that later)
2). That is not the center who is hiking the ball...it's a wide receiver.
3). That is not even a QB taking the snap - or the punter...it's a safety.
Now let's just take in the overall look of this set-up shall we?
Over on the one side you've got most of the Colts lined up in punt formation. Why? Even if the Patriots were idiotic enough to believe the Colts were going to punt...THERE IS NO BALL THERE!!! And the acting center sure as heck isn't going to be snapping it diagonally to the punter. I don't know what the intelligence level of the players are but I'm pretty sure they are not stupid enough to believe a phantom football could be punted.
But let's just ignore everyone over on that side...just pretend the players for both teams aren't there.
Let's look at the 5 players huddled around the ball and mathematically sort this out...the fake "QB/Punter" is virtually useless for anything other than trying to advance the ball once it's snapped. That leaves one player to block THREE defenders.
This ball should have never been snapped...I make $0 a year playing football and I know that.
Oy.
