Dog Day Afternoon

Yesterday we dog-sat for friends.


The three dogs ran around like crazy all morning....and then collapsed all afternoon!

Airport Pick-up

Oh how I love the airport pick-up.

The excitement we feel as we near the airport and realize that the boy's plane is probably on decent and close to landing.


The happiness of seeing my boys walk down the concourse hallway... the first time I've seen them in months.




The chatter in the car on the way home as we all catch up on the latest news and gossip.


But probably the best part is being able to embarrass my boys by jumping up and down, waving my arms like a madman, and pulling out the camera to capture the moment.

And walking out of the airport...a complete family again

I am not happy with the quality of these pictures... I believe the flash has something to do with it.

Different Rules

At my parent's house he is allowed to stand (or lie) on their tables!  
He knows never to do this at home.
But, there, he knows the rules are different, and he likes to find little critters to watch like chipmunks, squirrels, and rabbits.
On one of our walks we even came upon a doe and her two fawns just a few feet away.  We all spent a minute or two just staring at each other.


On a separate note: tonight we pick up C.J. and Jon from the airport.  Jon is back for good - or at least until we take him to school on the 2nd of September.  C.J. will visit until the 21st!!!!!

Another Trip

Zack and I just returned from another five day trip up north.  This time we brought my mom back with us to spend a few days... and I am beyond excited to be picking up C.J. and Jon from the airport on Thursday!!!


Anyway, Saturday I took Zack to Lake Antoine to swim.  As much as he wanted to go, I was unsure of whether he would really like it once he realized that this was a lake...with live fish (and dead fish)....and a sandy bottom.


  But he LOVED it!!  


And despite the numerous clouds in the sky the sun remained out for the majority of the time making it  warm enough out.

Can you tell he is at that stage where he tries to make cool looking faces at the camera?


Sunday, we went back to Piers Gorge for a hike.

We also walked around Strawberry Lake

And, of course, we visited with great-grandma... who is still confined to bed and basically on a down-hill trend.  But still displays a positive attitude for the most part and remains happy and content with life... so that makes me happy.

Zack and I went to see a local production this evening.  He was in it two years ago when our school put it on.

Waiting For My Walk

We are still in the habit of a nightly walk around the yard.

Since our city's air event ended Sunday I was quite surprised when we saw that the Zeppelin was still at the airport today.

Zack and I were on our way to the dollar store when we noticed it so we pulled over and took some last pics.
